Jo Ludlow - The Original Diva

Jo Ludlow is an award-winning hairdresser with over 30 years’ experience. Her dynamic creativity and vision have been reflected in her editorial, commercial and catwalk assignments, working with big-name brands such as Agent Provocateur, whilst her work has featured in leading magazines such as Hairdressers Journal and Creative Head.

Jo established the trailblazing Diva Academy in Worcester, a successful, city-centre salon and pioneering training centre that started life out as Acker’s Academy. When Jo and her team outgrew the original salon, Jo and her partner Steve seized an opportunity to move to bigger premises on Copenhagen Street in Worcester. Together they expanded everything, and eventually bought the building, adding the café, bar and restaurant – Ludlows.

The renowned Diva Academy was a huge success and soon captured the attention of Wolverhampton College who bought the business from Jo & Steve after 12 triumphant years.

In 2015, the entrepreneurial duo went on to set up Jo’s beautiful, boutique salon in the village of Colwall, where – alongside her fantastic team - she continues to deliver exceptional service in what feels like a home away from home.

Located on the border of Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Gloucestershire, Colwall’s brilliant location is easily accessible from the three counties, as well as the M5 and M50.

Many of Jo’s clients travel far and wide to see Jo; join them in this gorgeous salon, where you can also enjoy the delights of Ludlow’s Bar as part of your salon experience.

The Salon Design

The salon was designed and built by Jo’s husband Steve Ludlow, who took into account many factors when starting the project. With many years of expertise Steve was able to design a salon that benefitted not only the environment but also the client. Steve is an independent Utilities Warehouse partner and has installed all of the utilities within the salon under the UW umbrella. Included in the instalment of utilities is a water softener that compliments the top quality salon products and an eco boiler to maintain green energy.
